Community Town Hall - July 21

United States

Tue, Dec 22 2020, 3:58 - 4:58pm

Please join me for a Community Town Hall!

As the California State Legislature nears the conclusion of its work for this session next month, I am hosting a town hall to discuss pending legislation and issues that concern you the most.

Please join me for a town hall meeting on:

Thursday, July 21, 2016
6:30 – 8 p.m.
San Francisco County Fair Building
1199 9th Avenue (at Lincoln Way)
San Francisco 94122

I will also provide an overview of the first state budget I helped craft as chair of the Assembly Budget Committee; a budget that will help strengthen our middle class.

  • Improving Education - This budget creates thousands more full-day preschool slots, makes the biggest K-12 education investment in California history, and creates thousands of slots for California students at our state universities.

  • Reducing Poverty - It eliminates the Maximum Family Grant Rule so that children aren't punished for being born into poverty and funds the second year of our state Earned Income Tax Credit.

  • Fighting Homelessness - The state will provide over $2 billion to help communities provide supportive housing.

  • Protecting the Environment - We are taking a leading role in the largest dam removal project in American history in order to restore the water, wildlife, and communities that rely on the Klamath River.

  • Saving for the Future - The budget includes the largest financial reserves in over three decades.

Questions and to RSVP call (415) 557-2312.
