Celebrate Filipino-American Heritage at the 21st Annual Pistahan Parade and Festival

10:00 am–Opening ceremonies kick-off the Pistahan weekend at San Francisco Civic Center

Parade route:
11:00 am–The Pistahan Parade begins at the San Francisco Civic Center at Grove Street and Larkin Street, marches down Market Street, makes a right on 4th street and ends at Yerba Buena Gardens on Howard Street.

Festival Details:
Experience the best of Filipino art, dance, music and food at the 21st Annual Pistahan Parade and Festival. Billed as the largest celebration of Filipino Americans in the U.S., the two-day event organized by the Filipino American Arts Exposition is expected to draw over 60,000 people each day. Admission is free and fun for the entire family!

San Francisco Pride Parade

I look forward to seeing you at this wonderful celebration of our City's diversity.  With over 200 parade contingents, 300 exhibitors, and more than 20 stages and venues, the San Francisco Pride Celebration and Parade is the largest LGBT gathering in the nation.

The 10th Annual Asian Heritage Street Celebration (AHSC) is the nation’s largest Pan-Asian street fair. The Asian Heritage Street Celebration gathers all communities among Asian Pacific Islanders in the San Francisco Bay Area, and enables cross cultural interaction through sharing of cultures, promoting Asian inspired arts and crafts vendors, creation of innovative programs and entertaining activities for visitors and participants.  The Celebration is sponsored by Hill Physicians Medical Group.

Activities:

Cinema Showcase: The Center for Asian American Media is thrilled to present the 4th Annual Asian Heritage Street Celebration Cinema Showcase on Saturday, May 17 from 2 – 4 p.m. inside the Asian Art Museum’s Samsung Hall. In the spirit of this year’s festival theme: TASTE OF ASIA, CAAM will be offering free screenings of fantastic foodie shorts and music videos. Come hungry and enjoy this family-friendly celebration of community, cinema and storytelling. Admission to the Asian Art Museum will be free all day courtesy of Target.

Culinary Chef Exhibition: This year at the AHSC, fair-goers will be treated to demos from top chefs from across the Bay Area. Here to showcase their talents are Sharon Nahm of E&O Asian Kitchen, Tim Archuleta of ICHI Sushi + NI Bar, Yong Dong “Tony” Wu of M.Y. China, Fred Tang and Wilfred Pacio from Spice Kit, and Thomas Weibull from the Clift Ho.

Arts and Crafts: The Asian Arts and Crafts World Market showcases the best and most creative Asian-themed arts and crafts items.  Shoppers can expect the highest quality of hand-crafted goods from artists in a wide variety of mediums from these jury selected artisan vendors. From handcrafted jewelry, fabric handbags made with Asian inspired-prints to Asian-influenced apparel and creative home decorations.

Bike Safety Fair

Come Celebrate Earth Day at the Bike Safety Fair

Join Assemblymember Phil Ting along with the SF Bicycle Coalition, Presidio YMCA YBIKE, and SF Safe Routes to Schools for our annual family friendly bike fair commemorating Earth Day weekend and the beginning of Bike to School Week. Bring your bikes for an obstacle course and free, basic bike tune-ups. The fair will also feature urban safe bicycling demonstrations and information booths with tips and tricks on bike safety in San Francisco. The first 300 families will receive free bike safety equipment for children.

Each year the Governor and Legislature work together to pass the state's annual budget that determines how our taxes will be spent on state funded programs like education, healthcare, and human services. These budget choices affect us all, so it's important to know how the decisions are made. Come and take the Budget Challenge and decide how much you think should be spent on programs and where the money should come from.
