(San Francisco) – Assemblymember Phil Ting (D-San Francisco) and the California Historical Society announced a $5 million state grant to digitize and place online original historical documents through "Teaching California," a program to innovate how history is taught in the classroom. "We love the idea that students would make it into a library where these documents are but realistically students don't have the ability to do that," said Assemblymember Ting. "If it's not online they won't come to life, so we have to make sure these documents are digitized." Learn more in this Assembly Access video.
