SF Chronicle: Can S.F. Chinatown’s Grant Avenue Transform Into a ‘Must-See’? Locals Launch Revitalization Effort

Source: San Francisco Chronicle

Grant Avenue in San Francisco’s historic Chinatown is struggling. The street, known to residents as the touristy side of Chinatown, doesn’t have the same hustle and bustle it did before COVID — or even in the years leading up to the pandemic.

Assembly Member Phil Ting allocated $26.5 million from the state’s budget to help CMAC purchase 800 Grant Ave., which spans half a block and houses several tenants, including a watch repair shop, senior center and seafood restaurant.
