SACRAMENTO, CA – Catherine Stefani was sworn in today as the Assemblymember for District 19 in the State Capitol. Representing the western neighborhoods of San Francisco and northern San Mateo County, Stefani is focused on public safety, affordable housing, and economic resilience.

A former prosecutor and county supervisor, Stefani has been a leader in fighting for sensible gun laws, advocating for domestic violence survivors, and championing affordable housing policies. She founded the San Francisco chapter of Moms Demand Action and has taken on powerful interests to advance public safety reforms and government accountability.
Stefani holds a law degree from McGeorge School of Law and has served in leadership roles at local and state levels. She lives in San Francisco with her husband and two children and is proud to represent her vibrant community in the State Assembly.
