Relief from long waits at the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is on the way. Starting this month, forty field offices throughout the state will now offer Saturday service, including the San Francisco location at 1377 Fell Street.

In releasing his state budget revision last week, Governor Brown proposed to allocate $250 million in emergency funding to help cities and counties address homelessness, which has reached crisis levels in California.

Saturday, April 28 – Bike Fair
Please bring the whole family to my annual bike fair, where kids of all ages will learn about safety, Safe Routes to School and legislation that affects our community. NO NEED TO BRING A BIKE. Bikes will be available to borrow. Enjoy the following: obstacle course, bike riding lessons and bike safety adjustments, as well as giveaways of: bicycle bells, helmets, water bottles and bike route maps, while supplies last.
On any given night, more than 1,300 San Francisco youth don’t have a safe place to call home. This is unacceptable. I was inspired to champion the effort to earmark $10 million in the state budget to get California’s homeless youth off the streets and succeeded in getting the funding.
