If you need health insurance, now is the time to sign up. Covered California is offering affordable policies as low as $10 a month or less. The deadline to sign up is Monday, January 31.

President Biden's American Rescue Plan has made lower premiums possible. The subsidies help ensure none of us are left without healthcare during this pandemic. In fact, a record 1.8 million Californians have already enrolled through Covered California, with two out of three qualifying for the lowest cost plans.

After the open enrollment period, Californians can only sign up for health insurance if they experience what's known as a qualifying event, such as losing a job, getting married or having a new baby.

You have until this Monday to enroll online at CoveredCA, or call (800) 300-1506. In some instances, certain applicants may be signed up for Medi-Cal instead, the state's free or very low-cost healthcare program for qualifying residents.
