Variations of the coronavirus are appearing in our communities, just as California is ramping up its COVID-19 vaccine distribution. Both trends are raising concerns among constituents. To help answer your questions, I am holding a virtual town hall next week with trusted experts.

Epidemiologist Dr. George Rutherford, who specializes in infectious diseases for both UCSF School of Medicine and UC Berkeley School of Public Health, will share the latest information about new coronavirus variants. He is one of the scientists working on the front lines of the pandemic.

Since my Assembly district encompasses two counties, I will also have representatives from both San Francisco and San Mateo join the panel to talk about plans to vaccinate residents.
