November 19, 2020: Public Education Town Hall
As a parent of kids in local public schools, I share concerns about the mental and social-emotional health of our students, public health safety for school personnel and students, and education gaps between public and private school students. If you share my concerns or have questions, join me:
Questions that we'll cover will include:
- What steps are districts taking to reopen our schools, safely, as soon as possible and how can we support them?
- How are we ensuring that our kids are learning what they will need to continue their education through this school year and beyond?
- How do we guarantee an equitable education for all students regardless of family circumstance, income or special needs?
- How do we get educators the resources and training they need to meet learning objectives?
My guests will be El Camino High School social studies teacher Erin Perusse, South San Francisco Unified School District superintendent Dr. Shawnterra Moore, San Francisco School Board Commissioner and parent Jenny Lam and President of the Jefferson Union High School District Board of Trustees Kalimah Salahuddin.
Ask your questions ahead of time; if time allows, we will also address questions submitted during the event via the Zoom Q&A function. In order to join the Zoom to ask questions during the event, click here and enter the passcode 775864.
Please join us for this timely town hall.
