Public Health Townhall
Tomorrow at 2:00 PM, I will be hosting my next virtual Town Hall with epidemiologist, Dr. George Rutherford, on my Facebook page. You do not need a Facebook account to watch. Please submit your questions in advance through my website.
Dr. George Rutherford, MD, is a professor at both the UCSF School of Medicine and the UC Berkeley School of Public Health. His research specializes in infectious diseases and how their transmission can be prevented. He was recently profiled in the San Francisco Chronicle as one of the Bay Area scientists working on the front lines to battle this pandemic.
Dr. Rutherford can answer questions about broader public health issues, such as forecasts of the disease's spread, as well as how the constant updating of information affects your everyday life during the pandemic.
In the meantime, click here for the latest information from the State of California, including how to get tested if you suspect you are infected; how to get financial help for yourself or your small business; and how you can help in this fight.
For more information locally, the City and County of San Francisco has compiled it here and recently began tracking data here. Data and resources from San Mateo County can be found here.
Thanks to all who have tuned in to my previous four virtual Town Halls on Facebook Live where I gave updates on the state's response to the COVID-19 crisis and answered questions from constituents. To go back and watch previous Town Halls, click here for April 3 and here for April 7.
See you tomorrow, April 9th at 2:00 pm, on my Facebook page.
Yours in health and hope,
Assemblymember, 19th District
