Winter is over and the sun is starting to shine, so come and join me for the following events this spring and early summer:

• Saturday, April 6:  As the legislative session continues, please bring any questions or concerns you have to the Joint Town Hall I am hosting with Senator Scott Wiener and Assemblymember David Chiu at UC Hastings. If you can't make it, I will host a livestream of the Joint Town Hall on my website.
   
• Sunday, April 28:  Learn about bike safety, safe routes to school and legislation that affects the community at a Bike Safety Fair at A.P. Giannini Middle School.  Limited free helmets and bells for children who attend.  Bikes for sharing will be provided.
   
• Saturday, May 4:  Get a complimentary blood pressure test and hearing check and learn about emergency and disaster preparedness at the Richmond District Health Fair I am hosting with Supervisor Sandra Lee Fewer at the Richmond Recreation Center.
   
• Thursday, May 9:  As I enter my fourth budget season as the Chair of the Assembly Budget Committee, I want to hear your input on the state budget as well as provide an update on state revenue projections and current budget proposals at my Budget Town Hall at the Milton Marks Auditorium in the CA State Building.
   
• Wednesday, June 26:  Do you know a stand-out veteran in our district who has given back to his or her community?  If so, nominate them for the Assembly's Veteran of the Year award.  Honorees will be invited to a luncheon and awards ceremony at the Sheraton Grand Hotel in Sacramento.  You can submit nominations here by Tuesday, April 30.
   
• Sunday, June 30:  Celebrate love and diversity by standing for equal rights for everyone and marching with me at the San Francisco Pride Parade.  Afterwards marchers are invited to join me for refreshments on the 14th floor of the State Building overlooking the celebration in Civic Center Plaza.
