Twin Peaks Muni Tunnel
Summer Closure and Pride Weekend
__SALUTATION__
After more than 100 years of service, the Twin Peaks Tunnel, which carries Muni's K-Ingleside, L-Taraval and M-Ocean View light rail lines between Castro and West Portal Stations, is in need of major maintenance.
Starting Monday, June 25th and continuing for approximately two months, the tunnel will be closed 24/7. During this time, the Forest Hill and West Portal stations will be closed, and bus service will run for the L-Taraval and M-Ocean View lines.
K-Ingleside light rail will run between West Portal and Balboa Park Stations, where riders can transfer to BART to head downtown. The M-Ocean View bus will also continue serving Balboa Park Station. During weekday morning rush hour (6:00 to 10:00 AM), Muni customers transferring from M buses or K trains to BART at Balboa Park can receive a free BART single-ride ticket good for travel downtown as far as Embarcadero Station.
