San Mateo County Needs Your Input
San Mateo County leaders are looking for input on how to spend funds generated by Measure K, the half-cent sales tax extension approved by local voters. Listening sessions are underway, and I wanted to make sure your voice is heard, so that a variety of perspectives are considered.
Priority issues are in four key areas: children and families, housing and homelessness, emergency preparedness, and mental health.
While there are several meetings, two are specifically in our Assembly District:
Wednesday, August 23
6 to 7:30 p.m.
Fernekes Building at Orange Park
781 Tennis Drive, South San Francisco
Friday, August 25
1:30 to 3 p.m.
101 Lake Merced Blvd, Daly City
After an overview, attendees will break up into smaller group discussions, facilitated by a team with expertise in engaging diverse communities. If you cannot attend a listening session, please fill out the community survey here. It's available in English, Tagalog, Chinese and Spanish.
Since Friday's meeting is during the day, Daly City residents are welcome to attend the one in South San Francisco, if evening hours are more convenient.
